Delicate clothing made of alpaca wool, handcrafted silver jewelry, high quality shoes and accessories, and gift and decoration items are some of the products that will be on display for hundreds of international shoppers who will visit the fairs Perú Moda (Peru Style) and Peru Gift Show 2011, set to take place on April 28-30 in Lima’s Jockey Center mall, according to Peru’s tourism and export agency PromPerú.

Peru Moda will consist of an exhibition of 320 stands displaying the best of Peruvian export-quality style and textile industry. There will be fashion shows as well as the seventh annual contest for young fashion designers. There will also be a special pavilion for those Peruvian companies that are certified Fair Trade, in order to encourage the development of responsible practices and sustainable supply chains. International companies will be able to get a feel for the products on offer and develop relationships with Peruvian producers.

The Peru Gift Show is a specialized event for gift and decor items that has been held every year since 1998, becoming an important provider of products for companies from the U.S., Europe and Latin America. In 2010, 150 professional buyers attended. Peru Gift Show will display ceramics, stained glass, basketwork, furniture and wooden pieces, gold- and silver-smithing, home textiles and handmade clothing accessories.
