Lima, Jul. 20 (ANDINA). Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) on Wednesday will announce at a press conference the first business expectations for the third edition of Expoalimentaria 2011, to take place from September 28 to 30.
Such trade fair has become the most important food fair in South America positioning itself as one of the largest food fairs in the world.
The press conference, in which international buyers will be also announced, will be attended by president of the Exporters’ Association (Adex) Juan Varilias, its vice-president and president of the Committee on Agriculture Carlos Lozada.
Also attending will be vice-president of the Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture at Adex, James Bertie, director of export promotion at Promperu, Alvaro Galvez as well as Ambassador Jaime Pomareda.
Expoalimentaria III is organized by Adex Promperu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Proinversión, sponsored by Scotiabank.
Expoalimentaria 2010 gathered 21,000 visitors and closed businesses for at least 70 million dollars. This year, the fair expects to hold more than 500 exhibition stands covering an area of 4,000 square meters.
